1.What brought you all together?

For some of them, the first time they played basketball was after joining GMC (What a surprise considering  they are pros now!) For some it was passion, for some it was boredom.

"Anyway we didn't have to study the whole year, so why not play instead" they stated.

 

2.Who do you idolize?

Surya Teja Sir & Hari Krishna Sir- Kobe Bryant

Arshad Sir, Stalin Sir & Mahender Sir- Allen Iverson

Capt. Surya Teja & Sudeep Sir- Michael Jordan

Shasheedhar- Derrick Rose

 

3. Story behind their Jersey numbers?

Some of them had their lucky numbers while others shared their jersey numbers with their favourite players. Hari Krishna Sir chose 00 since he wanted  to be "different".

 

4.Achievements-

Well they've won every single match played in our college since 2k7 fest.

They also represented our college at inter-college & University levels and reached upto semis.

 

5. Toughest match ever played?

The match against Army Medical College at Kakinada. It was a tense match with 40 point tie, the last 10 seconds was the game changer.

 

6. Most Memorable win?

The very first time they got on to the court (in 2k7 fest) against their opponent (2k6), they lost the first league match. And it was their Captain Surya Teja Reddy who raised the spirit back to lead them to their first win.

8.Superstitions before a match..

Hari Krishna sir considers black t-shirt to be lucky.

 

9.Favourite hangout place at college?

Basketball court and canteen stairs.

 

10.Any funny incident on their sports tour?

 While at Narayana for ther university selections, they returned back from the party, pretty late to find the gates closed. It started pouring and they had to jump the gate.

 

11.Passion for the game..

During the 2k7 fest, due to rains the final match was to be cancelled and the trophy was to be shared. But their love for the game made them get the court cleaned. Needless to say, they won the finals.

 

12.Most memorable memory of MBBS..

For some it was their first win,for others it was passing Final Year. For Stalin Sir,it was being one of the 6 doctors from Gandhi,on behalf of the Govt of AP serving the injured & wounded pilgrims of Uttarakhand floods.

 

13. Memories of College life(Names are concealed)

“In my first year, I pretended to be a senior girl and texted my class guys.This carried on for quite a long time and we all had a good laugh later”

 

PRESENTATION MANIA-“I was supposed to give a ppt in my physiology class.Obviously I didn’t make the slide show and I realized during the presentation that many words were not visible coz it was the same colour as the background.I read aloud meaningless sentences and was appreciated at the end of the presentation”(Probably the Prof like us also dozes off in the class!)

Me-(Pretending to think deeply with my hand scratching my temple)

Me-(Obeys and places the hand higher on vertex)

Sir-Can you feel it?(sarcasm!)

Me-YES SIR!!YES SIR! I can feel it.

 

2)FORAMEN MAGNUM

Sir-What passes through Foramen Magnum?

Me-Spinal cord

Me-Umm Trachea and Oesophagus??(I thought since they’re close to each other in the neck,they had pass through foramen magnum)

Me(answers very confidently)-Tumor of the trachea!

 

14.What makes you different from others?

Everyone knows that basketball is a stylish game,but we don't show off. Once we are on the court,we don't think about the audience. We don't care who is watching us. We just focus completely on the game.

 

15.Future plans.

All of them are gearing up for their entrance exams while Stalin Sir & Sudeep Sir are preparing for their civils.
