INSIGHT INTO CONSORTIUM
When they started it off they were warned that this wasn't easy. Like every batch, the batch of 2010 too had a ray of hope , a hope to make it big. To bring in vibrance and radiance straight out, it was called 'CONSORTIUM'.. CONSORTIUM means a gathering where unity was the key. With a striking caption UNIFY TO DEFY LIMITS, all the batches were named as per various colours where they unite to form white.
They beckoned all the gandhians to join the celebrations and also kicked off the sports meet by a flash mob on 18th of september. They started off on a very promising note with the inaugral being called AVIRBHAV. Be it potraying Dasavataram, to express that over times there has always been a saviour to guide and stand by us or the UV theme to reveal the fest, batch and event names, they left the audiences awestruck. It filled me with pride to be seated there and watch tron dance and must say we gandhians aren't just good with the books, we can conquer other fields aswell. The appreciation received from our Principal and Vice principal spoke for itself and when the curtains fell for that night it was evident on their faces that they were more than contended.
The week long gala for every gandhian started off with varied events at auditorium, cellar and sports fields. True to its name 'extravaganza', the fashion show, was one extravagant affair that saw people thronging the auditorium to catch a glimpse of our fashionistas. I must say that this was for the very first time Gandhi saw such varied fashion themes and such a marvellous response by the participants and audiences! No fest is complete without hamara desi tadka, the dandiya night or call it the colourful night, that saw girls in lovely sarees and guys in their kurtas dancing away the night to the desi tunes. I had one hell of a time grooving to the tunes of dj Sahil. Three dance floors, glow in the dark bands and for the very first time liberty to dance away until 12 A.M, definetly couldn't ask for more! The paparazzi that thronged our college couldn't be avoided for our fete couldn't miss anyone's eye. The budding Gandhian talent was well brought out through the dance, singing and various other competitions. Since this is the first fest at Gandhi after the Telangana state formation, we the batch of 2k10 introduced Bathukamma and it was very well backed up by all our professors. A security guard (Stephen) at gandhi receiving standing ovation...well that is definetly unheard off but that guys dream of singing for the masses came true, when he was invited to sing at 'The Musical Night'. I could completely destress myself with their melodious tunes. As the curtains raised for the finale, I could tell that this batch is upto something huge with a huge LED screen setup. The guest of honour being Dr. Putta Srinivas Sir D.M.E and comedian Shiva Reddy. It was a great event that left everyone spell bound

Well I was filled with mixed emotions when this grand fest came to an end. For the seniors can relate to it and juniors can learn from it,that it coudn't be complete without the efforts of each and every member of the batch. They all gave in their best, spent sleepless nights to carve and create this entire fest for each and everyone of us. Its not a cake walk and not all fun as it meets the eye, each of them had to go through a little suffering, petty tiffs and misunderstandings but what counts at the end of the day is that they could still stand tall, rise above the problems and emerge triumphant. I want to thank each and every person who worked for this fest for I've seen that you've given it your sweat and time. It wouldn't be possible without our Principal, Vice Principal and professors who backed us and stood by us through our difficult times. A huge thank you to Abhilash sir, Vinay sir and the 2k8 seniors who attended the fest inspite of their busy schedules and were our strength. Thank you juniors for the active participation. Kudos to all the core committee members for your efforts in co-ordinating all the Gandhians. Proud to say that Gandhi fests have something innovative all the time but this one definetly did raise the bar. So this way, one extravagant gala came to an end and it left us with memories for a life time. Do watch out for the college magazine, ADVIKA- A unique souvenir!
